of state use local printers to print their annual reports, brochures, and
other marketing materials. Lewiston-Auburn
is also home to the world-famous Farmers' Almanac, printed since
1818.

The Lewiston-Auburn area is home to numerous large and specialty printers.

Dingley Press, a high-speed web printer in nearby Lisbon that prints
and mails nationally nearly 400 million catalogs a year

an extensive layout and ripping department, and a wide array of mailing
and pre- and post-press services

Sun Journal, printers of a newspaper with a circulation of 34,814, operates a commercial printing press called Sun Press
Academic and Industry Resources
Central
Maine Community College in Auburn offers a Graphic Arts/Printing Technology
program, recognized as one of the finest in Northern New England. CMTC
has served as host to various industry trade groups including the Graphic
Arts Education and Research Foundation.
The
printing industry in Lewiston-Auburn also plays a leadership role in the
Maine Graphic Arts Association, a 150-member organization that links printers,
suppliers, graphic designers, and educational organizations throughout
Maine.
